Komentovaná prehliadka výstavy Milana Bočkaya: Zadné svetlo (Retrospektívny pohľad)

Guided tour of Milan Bočkay’s exhibition titled Rear Light.

The commentary presents the artistic vision of the author, who is a leading creator of analytical painting based on the principle of trompe l’oeil (optical illusion). At the center of Bočkay’s concept lies the age-old problem of the relationship between art and illusion, reality and fiction. Through precise old-master painting techniques, he explores newly defined visual elements of surface, space, and the illusion of illusion.

Milan Bočkay (*1946, Krušovce) studied at the School of Applied Arts under Prof. Rudolf Fila (1961–1965) and at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (1965–1971). Between 1982–2008, he taught at the Josef Vydra School of Applied Arts in Bratislava and since 1991 has been a member of the A-R (avance-retard) art group.

The guided tour is included in the museum admission price.
