Mikrozvuk #63: Usof + sorbitol drops

On 6 September, following the summer break, LOM space will host Mikrozvuk, featuring performances by Usof and Sorbitol Drops.

Usof is a sound artist based in Lisbon who pushes the definition of ‘ambient music’ into even more intricate realms. As well as his work as a visual artist and mastering engineer, he organises events with the collectives Living Room and Tundra and plays a significant role in shaping the sound of Lisbon’s post-ambient scene. His discography includes releases on labels such as Theory Therapy, enmossed, Psychic Liberation, surf and Rotten Fresh, as well as remixes, live recordings and singles released by labels around the world. He has performed at venues and festivals across the EU and the UK, including Cafe OTO, Waking Life, Les Siestes Électroniques, Outfest, KWIA and many others. He is also behind the “for 0” show on Radio Quântica and is a resident DJ at Brussels-based Radio Kiosk.

sorbitol drops is a music producer and visual artist based in Prague. He focuses primarily on audiovisual multimedia installations combined with the production of experimental electronic music. His debut album Remízek music, released in the summer of 2024 on the Gin&Platonic label, is based on a collage-style composition of processed samples consisting mainly of field recordings or studio recordings of various natural materials and musical instruments. The result is an interweaving of diverse musical expressions and forms that create narratives full of tension and contrasts. In addition to his own artistic work, he is involved in the programming of the Trať festival’s music programme.
