Photo Marathon Bratislava 2026

Photo Marathon Bratislava returns after 10 years, bringing a one-day citywide photography challenge that connects community, creativity, and authentic moments in the streets.

Photo Marathon Bratislava 2026 marks the return of a popular event that last took place in 2015. After a decade, this unique citywide photography challenge is coming back in a new format, with a strong focus on community, public space, and authentic visual storytelling.

The event is organized by Klub dobrej fotografie, building on the experience of the Lamač Photo Marathon and expanding it into an open event for the wider public.

The Photo Marathon will take place on 16 May 2026 as part of Dobrý trh. Throughout the day, participants will capture photos based on assigned themes directly in the streets of Bratislava—spontaneously, without staging, and in real urban environments.

Who is it for

The event is co-organised with Klub mladých fotografov Ateliér fantázie under the guidance of Marian Valovič and is open to everyone from amateur photographers to advanced creators.

The goal is to connect people who see the city through a lens and to create a space for sharing perspectives, stories, and unique moments.

Hang Your Photo – Photography Among People

A special part of the event is the accompanying activity “Hang Your Photo”, which brings photography directly into the public space. Participants can exhibit their work on-site among visitors of Dobrý trh.

The exhibition is also a competition – photos will be evaluated by a professional jury as well as the public, with winners announced on the same day.

This concept removes the barriers of traditional galleries and connects photographers with audiences directly in the vibrant city environment.
