Saxophobia
The turn of January and February will traditionally belong to the saxophone event of the year in the capital – the SAXOPHOBIA BRATISLAVA festival. In addition to master classes, the 10th anniversary edition will also feature a competition for young composers and two public concerts dedicated to classical music on saxophones.
Saxophobia Bratislava is now an integral part of not only the Slovak but also the European music scene. In the 10 years since its inception, it has grown from a local masterclass to one of the largest and best in Europe.
The 10th edition of Saxophobia will be a record-breaking one! More than 100 saxophonists from all over Europe will gather in Bratislava to expand their skills during four-day master classes (January 29 – February 1) at the Academy of Performing Arts under the guidance of seven top lecturers from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Slovakia. The organizers have also prepared two exceptional public concerts featuring a variety of styles from the Renaissance through the Baroque and Romantic periods to contemporary compositions and Slovak premieres.
