Slam Poetry: Best of SK + Anatol Svahilec

Slam Poetry: Best of SK showcases the best male and female slammers on the domestic scene, plus a special guest: none other than Anatol Svahilec, a star of the European slam poetry scene.

Since 2014, Bedňa has been involved in musical comedy and stand-up. In 2022, he became the Slovak champion in slam poetry, advancing to the European Championships in Rome and subsequently to the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. That same year, he also won the national round of the songwriting competition Kontakt. He studied film directing at VŠMU and is currently studying multimedia composition at JAMU. He is also involved in amateur theater. Music, humor, profound thoughts—Bedňa has it all.

Zuzana Cascino is the 2025 Slovak Slam Poetry Champion, a war correspondent from the front lines in Ukraine, and a slammer who usually moves the audience to tears. But slam poetry is about powerful emotions, so that’s just part of the slam experience.

Andrej Klobušník – the first king of the hill, teacher of nations, destroyer of tumors, and hysterical historian. 2025 Slovak runner-up. A heavyweight of Slovak slam. Slovakia’s greatest poet—at least in terms of size. At the altitude where his brain resides, the air is already thin, giving rise to primal associations that connect the seemingly unconnectable in his texts.

Anatol Svahilec is synonymous with Czech slam poetry and a true international star. He has performed on multiple continents and in numerous countries, including Germany, Poland, Belgium, Estonia, Quebec, and Ghana. He was the 2014 Czech Republic Slam Champion. His powerful lyrics are legendary in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He is the author of three slam poetry collections. He regularly hosts slam events at the Pohoda festival.

Tomáš Straka will host the evening. Founder of contemporary Slovak slam and artistic director of the Slovak slam scene. He represented Slovakia at the 2018 European Championships as co-author of the slam theater production Bridging the Barriers, directed by Marc Smith. He has led dozens of workshops and participated in hundreds of events; he is the author of six books. In 2024, he brought the European Slam Poetry Championships to Slovakia.

The evening will feature an exceptional slam show where the audience can decide who will become the champion of champions.
