Summer Talks from the Old Town Hall

The Summer Talks from the Old Town Hall continue with their third evening meeting, this time on the subject of Czechoslovakia in the Streets. This topic was chosen to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of Bratislava into the Czechoslovak Republic and the change of the official city name from Prešporok to Bratislava.

This evening focuses on the changes that came with the founding of Czechoslovakia. In order to establish the ideology of the new state in public space, monuments were removed, or new ones erected, and the names of streets and squares changed.

Traditionally, the event takes place in the historic courtyard of the Old Town Hall. The discussion is revived by recorded music on historic turntables and the great atmosphere in the courtyard is complemented by a café. In case of bad weather, the event will be relocated to the Faust Hall of the Bratislava City Museum in the Old Town Hall.

The Summer Talks from the Old Town Hall are a part of the Cultural Summer and Castle Festival Bratislava 2019.
