Uprising

Uprising is Central Europe’s biggest reggae festival – but it is far from being monothematic. Over the course of two days, the festival will feature many genres: reggae, dancehall, ska, latino, hip-hop, dub, dubstep, ragga-jungle, and drum’n’bass. Love, peace, unity.

This year’s edition is headlined by superstars Alborosie from Italy, Azahriah from Hungary, the Afrobeat queen Yemi Alade from Nigeria, and rapper Rich The Kid from New York. Traditionally, artists from Jamaica are also coming – the young generation is represented by Jesse Royal, while reggae pioneers by The Congos.

The festival’s roster also includes artists such as Dubioza Kolektive, Tommy Cash, Black Sun Empire, Sigma, Transglobal Underground & Natasha Atlas, The Orb, Sena Dagadub, Catching Cairo, and many more. Check out the full list of performers.

Uprising is exceptional not only for the lineup, but also for the atmosphere and the setting of the site. The festival, which is declared the most beautiful in the Central European area, takes place in a park next to the Golden Sands lake, among mature trees, and offers pleasant natural corners in addition to seven music stages.

The lake is located right next to the festival grounds, the passage to the lake is easy, swimming is allowed at your own risk. There is also a wakeboard near the festival.

Uprising is not just about the music: it’s a lifestyle. For visitors there are events such as sports competitions, a dancehall workshop, a capoiera or a Healing Area with all-day activities such as yoga, meditation or sound healing. Due to the diversity in the gastronomic areas, you won’t go hungry or thirsty. A variety of exotic delicacies from Africa and Jamaica are also on offer.

The organizers also take into account the youngest fans, so there is a children’s zone with a special program and activities for parents with children in the area.

Uprising is very easily accessible from the city – we recommend taking tram number 4 from the Bratislava main station. The best parking is in the large car park of the nearby shopping centre, a 5-minute walk from the festival. See all transport options and other practical informations.

Buy a two-day pass. Day passes will be available on site unless the festival sells out.
