The magic of Christmas approaching at Devín Castle, where visitors can enjoy a program full of good cheer, Christmas carols, and fragrant punch.

Program:

• 5:00 p.m. Christmas as you (don’t) know it

What did Christmas look like in the days when Devín Castle was still bustling with everyday life? What was a must on the festive table of a noble family and what traditions did the inhabitants of the castle observe centuries ago?

During the guided tour, visitors will be transported back in time and discover how the holidays were celebrated in different periods of the castle’s history – from the Middle Ages to the period when Devín became a noble residence. The castle walls will come alive with stories and the atmosphere of old Christmases, brought to life by castle administrator Petra Palíková Kohútová.

• 6:15 p.m. Lighting of the Christmas tree

The Christmas tree in the Lower Castle will be lit and decorated to the accompaniment of carols and punch.

We recommend bringing your own handmade decorations made from natural materials to help create a true festive atmosphere at Devín. Each decoration will add its own story and make this evening even more special.
