Argentine Tango and Slovak music in exclusive performance – the ALEA quartet begins its Slovak tour

The ALEA ensemble belongs to the most interesting projects of the Slovak music scene in the last 20 years. An exclusive connection of top performers and an unrepeatable mix of the traditional and the artificial. At the beginning stood the ambition to perform the music of Astor Piazzolla in sophisticated acoustic sound, gradually the unconventional line-up – violin, accordion, piano and contrabass – became inspiration for many Slovak authors, which wrote tailor-made compositions for the ensemble. The binding agent of the seemingly inhomogenous repertoire is the high performance level of the original formation, which more reminds of jazz, but plays with delicacy of the best classical performers. After a longer break ALEA set off to tour. At the concerts in Bratislava, Skalica and Banská Bystrica the music by Astor Piazzolla and by Peter Zagar und Stanislav Palúch will be performed.

ALEA: Boris Lenko – accordion, Daniel Buranovský – piano, Stano Palúch – violin, Ján Krigovský – contrabass
