In the footsteps of coronations: Route 2 in Hungarian

You can once again enjoy the coronation atmosphere in the former Pressburg

On the occasion of the Bratislava Coronation Days, the Bratislava Tourist Board always organizes free thematic tours dedicated to the city’s famous coronation history.

Follow the footsteps of the coronation processions of the kings and queens who have accepted the Hungarian royal crown. It was also associated with responsibility for the whole country. You will learn about the pleasures and sorrows of the Hungarian monarchs, but especially about the glory of the former Pressburg when it was the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary.

The last ruler who attended the ceremony at St. Martin’s Cathedral was Emperor Ferdinand I of Austria, also called The Benign. You will end the journey of the past the same way as the kings and queens – at the castle.

Route of this tour will guide you from Rudnay Square through Provostal Street along Ventúrska and Saddler Streets to the Main Square and Franciscan Square, through White Street and Michael’s Street and further along Capuchin Street to Castle Street and Bratislava Castle.

Come to St. Martin’s Cathedral on Rudnay Square on Saturday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m., from where you will start your journey into the past. Do not hesitate to register for a free tour in Hungarian, which takes about one and a half to two hours.
