New Year’s Eve Concert in the Slovak Philharmonic

The last and first days of the year should be filled with a joyful atmosphere

The George Gerschwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, which never loses its popularity, the playful suite from Frederick Loewe’s smiling musical My Fair Lady, or the powerful music from film and operetta by Leonard Bernstein are all musical gems of the 20th century.

The evening in Reduta will culminate in a suite from the opera by Briton Andrew Lloyd Webber. The Phantom of the Opera, a work that received many performances in opera houses and in 2004 filmmaking, was the most financially profitable performance on Broadway for several decades.

Classical, but also jazz musician Ladislav Fančovič, is probably the best local choice to study a part of Rhapsody in Blue. The last and first concert seconds of the year will belong to the baton of Czech conductor Robert Jindra, who has been chief conductor of the Slovak State Philharmonic Košice since the 2021/2022 season and has held the post of music director of the State Opera of the National Theatre in Prague since the current season.

There are two concerts. The first will take place on December 30th at 7 p.m., the second one right on New Year’s Eve at 4 p.m. Come to the fabulously beautiful premises of the Slovak Philharmonic to say goodbye to the old year with musical classics. Enjoy the New Year’s Eve concert in Bratislava’s Reduta.
