Battle of Bratislava
September 27 will be the day when annual re-enactement of Battle for Bratislava will take place in famous Sad Janka Kráľa – the oldest park in Central Europe.

The highlight of the programme will be the reconstruction of the siege of August 1621, when the Transylvanian prince Gabriel Bethlen attempted to recapture the city after its citizens opened the gates to the imperial army. Once again, Prešporok (the historical name of Bratislava) became the stage for clashing armies, cannons, and dramatic battles.

Bohemian revolt was slowly coming to its end, uprising of Gabriel Bethlen was also weakening at the time. Bratislava – Pressburg is however still in hands of Bethlen’s men. Come over to recall history and enjoy a reenactment of a skirmish from 1620.
