Fans of jazz and funk have a reason to be pleased! Candy Dulfer, the world-famous Dutch saxophonist, will visit Slovakia as part of her We Funk Harder Tour 2024. This phenomenal musician will perform on 21 November at the MMC club in Bratislava. The performance, which is part of the City Sounds festival, promises an unforgettable evening of funk, jazz and first-class energy.

Candy Dulfer has been a renowned figure on the world music scene for decades. Her virtuosic command of the saxophone and distinctive style combining jazz, funk and pop have earned her critical praise and millions of fans around the world. Already her Grammy-nominated debut album Saxuality has catapulted her onto the international scene. Her biggest hits include songs like Lily Was Here and For the Love of You, which have catapulted her to the top of the global music scene. Candy is not only a virtuoso on the saxophone, but also a charismatic performer who turns every performance into an extraordinary musical experience.

Throughout her career she has collaborated with such names as Prince, Dave Stewart, Maceo Parker and Beyoncé, each of these projects only confirming her fearless position among the finest instrumentalists of our time. Her latest album We Never Stop, which celebrates musical perseverance and creativity, has garnered rave reviews from critics and fans alike. The album also spawned the hit single Convergency, which reached number one on the Billboard charts, and in which she collaborated with Chic’s legendary Nile Rodgers.

The concert is part of Bratislava’s City Sounds festival, which this year will also feature Australian singer and musician RY X (15 November 2024, sold out) and Shalosh and Crosscurrents Trio with Dave Holland, Zakir Hussain and Chris Potter and (16 November 2024).

The concert will be at the Majestic Music Club, in the concert hall of the historic YMCA building.
