DAPHNE GUINNESS: THE QUEEN OF THE NIGHT
The multimedia exposition is actually a mosaic composed of works on which the author collaborated with the leading figures of photography such as Nick Knight, David LaChapelle, Indrani, and Luca Pizzaroni.
“Daphne is a walking inspiration and her persona is her own masterpiece,”
said John Richardson, a theorist of art, in his monograph which maps the life of the “Renaissance” icon, starting with Daphne’s childhood in Cadaques, where she grew up in the presence of Salvador Dalí, and ending with a retrospective exhibition of her protegé Alexander McQueen in New York Metropolitan Museum.
DAPHNE GUINNESS: THE QUEEN OF THE NIGHT shows a creative interaction between the artist and her muse, a metamorphosis of Daphne Guinness in her works in which she herself features as an artistic object, a muse, a model, a director.
“This prestigious project is the peak of this year’s exhibition season for the Bratislava City Gallery. We believe that the exhibition will attract visitors also from abroad and that it will be a successful follow-up to the exhibition of David LaChapel, which GMB organized in cooperation with the agencies Pavley Art and Culture and MILOSH Limited,”
said Ivan Jančár, the director of GMB.
