Kvapka – večer pri naturálnom víne: Wimmer-Czerny
Bratislava has a new home for natural wine. The Nahé vína project is joining forces with Rómerov dom to present a series of regular guided tastings with international participation, titled Kvapka – Evenings with Natural Wine.
The second evening in May will feature the Austrian winery Wimmer-Czerny from the Wagram region. The family-owned winery is located in the village of Fels am Wagram, approximately 70 km west of Vienna, and its history, according to preserved documents, dates back to the early 17th century. Today, the Czerny family cultivates approximately 15 hectares of vineyards and 12 hectares of fields using the Demeter biodynamic method.
Wagram is a region known for its deep loess soils, significant differences between day and night temperatures, and wines with natural balance, structure, and subtle minerality. Wimmer-Czerny focuses primarily on white wines—especially the Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and Roter Veltliner varieties, which are among the region’s traditional specialties.
In the vineyard and in the cellar, they work as naturally as possible: the grapes are harvested by hand, fermentation takes place with the wine’s own yeasts, and the wines age slowly, with minimal intervention and respect for the soil, the plant, and the vintage. Their portfolio also includes the natural PUR line—macerated, unfiltered wines, amphora, pét-nat, and sulfur-free wines.
The tasting will be structured as a guided tasting of several samples, accompanied by a gourmet snack from the Rómer House kitchen. Due to the limited capacity of the historic venue and the intimate nature of the event, we recommend booking tickets in advance.
