Cryptomania – City Game about Coronations in Bratislava

How did a coronation ceremony look like? What were the ruler’s duties during coronation? Follow their footsteps on the royal road in the Old Town of Bratislava in this new tourist cypher game. The game has been open since Apr 22, 2017. You can play it any time weather permitting till autumn.

A ruler becomes a king just after he receives the crown, even if he has been elected before the coronation. The coronation itself is a great event both for the sovereign and for the city. Bratislava, previously known as Pressburg, Prešporok, or Pozsony witnessed 19 coronations. The history of Bratislava, as the Hungarian coronation city, includes coronations of 10 kings, 8 wives of kings and one queen.

Form a team of 2 to 5 people, walk through the historic center of Bratislava and discover the history of coronation in 2-3 hours, while solving exciting puzzles and cyphers.

Average duration of the game: 3 hours 30 min.
Starting place: Tourist information center (TIC), Primaciálne námestie, center of the Old Town

Game characteristics: The game goes along hard paths, you can take even a kid’s stroller along, but you might need a little help from your team, since there is a few stairs along the way.

Required equipment: Pen and paper, fully charged smartphone or tablet with internet connection and good mood.
