Great Forest Dancing

All day in the whirl of folk traditions brings the last Saturday of April

Dance schools, unique lecturers, creative craft workshops for the little and the big ones, theatre performances or the putting up the maypole. All this awaits you even more on the third day of the amazing Festival of tradition haned down.

You can have a great time at the Klepáč Mill at Železná studnička on April 30 from the morning until late evening and dance at up to three dance venues.

There will be games and dances for mothers and daughters, games and dances for fathers and sons, dance houses from western, central and eastern Slovakia, dances and rhymes for toddlers or couples dances for children. In a separate theatre section look forward to theatre performances, plays, creative workshops, walking on stilts, puppets leading and dance puppet theatre.

Children will perform to children the games and dances from Bratislava surroundings, you will also see the old and new from Myjava region, primping improvised dancing from Liptov region, bag-piper’s dances from Ponitrie region, Ruthenians dances from Šariš region, female and male dances from Zemplín region, Roma-Gadjo Chiko czardas, as well as ordering of songs and couple dances from Podpoľanie region. And you’ll also observe how a maypole is put up.

The House of Traditional Dances with dances of Horehronie, Orava, Šariš and Abov regions as well as Romanian Moldova region will finish everything. You can have fun on it until nightfall. So come to act the goat and enjoy a great family Saturday with still lively folk traditions.
