🎉 During the Bratislava Coronation Days 2025, follow in the footsteps of kings, queens and the city’s baroque glory – with expert commentary, fascinating stories, and memorable guided experiences.
🎟️ All tours are free of charge and provided by the Tourist Information Centre.

👟 We recommend comfortable shoes – tours take place in the historic city centre.
☔ Tours run in all weather – dress accordingly.
🧒 Family-friendly tours include children’s materials – please arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Károly főherceg koronázására Pozsonyban került sor 1712. május 22-én. Károlyt már 1711. december 24-én Frankfurt am Mainban koronázták meg IV. Károly német-római császárrá. Pozsányban kapta meg a III. Károly magyar királyi címet. Legnagyobb hozzájárulása a Habsburg-dinasztia magyar trónon való megőrzéséhez az úgynevezett Pragmatikus Szankció érvényesítése. Koronázásának emlékműve a pozsonyi vár bécsi, akkoriban Károly-kapuja és a Szent Mihály-kapu előterében található emléktábla.

📖 In the footsteps of Hungarian kings coronated in Pressburg

During the guided tour we will “follow the golden crowns” that will bring us to the oldest church of the historical city, dedicated to the Franciscans’ Order. You will also learn more about the king that paid for the oldest fountain of Bratislava. Then the tour continues directly to the St. Martin’s Cathedral where 11 kings and 7 queens consorts were crowned between 1563 and 1830. We will finish the tour on the Castle Hill to enjoy the views of the city.

In addition to purchasing a ticket, you have the option to register for a tour of the interior of the Bratislava Castle and its gardens. Stroll among the silver linden trees and statues and take a photo by the central fountain. Explore the museum and discover the rich history of the castle.

📖 Der ungarische König Karl III. (römisch-deutscher Kaiser Karl VI.) – der letzte Habsburger und ein barocker Monarch

Nach dem unerwarteten Tod seines Bruders Joseph I. musste Karl VI. Spanien verlassen, um die Herrschaft über die Erblande und das Reich zu übernehmen. Als ungarischer König Karl III. wurde er am 22. Mai 1712 in Pressburg gekrönt. Seine Herrschaft ist vor allem durch die Durchsetzung der Pragmatischen Sanktion gekennzeichnet, mit der er die Unteilbarkeit des Reiches für seine älteste Tochter sichern wollte. Er war der letzte Habsburger und zugleich der letzte Barockkaiser mit einer Vorliebe für Zeremonien und Prunk. Während der Führung besichtigen wir wichtige Stationen seines Krönungszuges sowie Bauten und Denkmäler aus seiner Regierungszeit.
