Nostalgic rides during Bratislava City Days

Take a ride in historic vehicles and try yourselves how public transport in Bratislava used to be

Do you want to experience what it was like in the past on a tram, trolleybus or bus? You have that chance the fourth weekend of April during Bratislava City Days. The Bratislava Transport Company will send historic vehicles from its fleet of vehicles to the streets of the city.

In honour of the granting of city privileges to Bratislava, the municipal public carrier will put historical trams, trolleybuses and buses into operation. Rides with historic vehicles will be free of charge, plus you can get a period ticket.

Historical trams will operate on April 23 and 24 on the special “A” line along the Jesenského – Kamenné nám. – Špitálska – Krížna – Vazovova – Blumentál – Obchodná – Kapucínska – tunnel – waterfront – Mostová – Jesenského in the interval of 15 minutes. The entrance to Jesenského stop will be at the stop next to the historic Slovak National Theatre building. On their route, trams will stop at all stops except Vazovova stop.

Historical trolleybuses will run all weekend approximately from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at a 15-minute interval on the special “H” line along the Depo Hroboňova – Búdková – Mudroňova – Palisády – Hodžovo námestie – Kollárovo námestie – Mickiewiczova – 29th of August – Cintorínska / Dunajská – Rajská route. Vehicles on this route will serve all stops. At the Depo Hroboňova stop they stop as line 47 on Lovinského street (platform A).

Historical buses of the special line “M” will operate on Saturday and Sunday at an interval of 15 minutes on the circular line Main Railway Station – Suché mýto – Nám. SNP – Dunajská – Mlynské nivy – Košická – Apollo Bridge – Einsteinova – Viedenská cesta – Einsteinova – SNP Bringe – Zochova – Hodžovo nám. – Main Railway Station. The vehicles will stop at all stops along the route. The stop Viedenská cesta can be found under the SNP Bridge on the Viennese Road and the stop Krasovského on the Krasovského Street at the Janko Kráľ Park.

On Saturday, April 23, historical buses will also operate on the special “R” line from Nám. A. Hlinku stop in Rača to its Rendez neighbourhood, which will provide transport on the First Steam Day event in the Railway Museum.
