The gallery brings together some thirty artists, mostly from former Soviet countries whose work addresses issues related to identity, memory, the body, migration, and archive work. The gallery fosters ongoing research, discoveries, experimentations and carefully constructed relationships in a tireless and passionate manner.

The last owner, Count Emil Mirbach, bequeathed the palace to the city with the wish to establish the Bratislava City Gallery in its premises. Mirbach Palace is one of the best-preserved buildings in the original architecture of old Prešpork. It is a rococo jewel built on the site of an old building, which is mentioned as early as 1459

Just a few minutes from the city center of Bratislava, in Rusovce, you’ll find a place where history truly comes to life. Ancient Gerulata was already built at the end of the 1st century as a Roman military camp – a fortified castellum on the borders of the Roman Empire.

Today, this unique archaeological site is part of the transnational UNESCO World Heritage site “Frontiers of the Roman Empire – Danube Limes”, inscribed in 2021.

Bunker B-S 8 Hřbitov (The Cemetery) dates from the 1930s, it was built as a part of the Czechoslovak defense system, specifically the Bratislava defense line.

Bunker B-S 6 Vrba is one of the preserved buildings of the Bratislava section of the Czechoslovak fortifications, in the premises of which there is now a museum.
